Here is a summary of some of the major attributes of our PreOx Antioxidant concentrate.

Vitamins A and D3:  We were concerned about the possibility of too much Vitamin A and D3 in some diets.  With increased supplement use and the use of prepared feeds containing further vitamin supplementation we were concerned that horse owners might be bringing their Vitamin A and D3 levels into troublesome levels.  We settled on a daily dosage (with the 2 ounce/highest serving level) of  30,000 IU of Vitamin A and 5,000 IU of Vitamin D3.  We feel that these are certainly adequate levels for this type of product and offer a bit more in the way of a margin of error for the horse owner using several sources of vitamin supplementation.

Vitamin Sources:  All vitamins used in the production of HorseTech’s PreOx are of the highest quality available to the industry.  Vitamins are purchased directly from several World Class vitamin producers including, Roche, Rhone-Poulenc, etc..

Freshness:  While researching Antioxidant products HorseTech made it a point to shop with our competitors.  One purchasing experience left quite an impression.  This product had been widely recommended.  When we receive the product we noted that the product had been manufactured on 5/21/10.  We had made our purchase through a catalog supply company in mid September, 2010.  So, this product had been in the system for nearly four months before reaching the end user.  Because we are a single source supplier (direct from manufacturer to consumer) our products are generally shipped out of our door within 10 days of manufacture.  With a product of this nature (high concentration of vitamins in a mix with trace minerals) we feel that freshness is a key.  Our direct to the consumer model ensures that the vitamins you pay for are in the product when you receive/use it!

Grapeseed Extract:  A powerful antioxidant and source of beneficial bioflavinoids.  The two ounce serving offers a full 1,200 mg of premium quality extract.  When used at the 2 ounce per day rate, PreOx will provide 1 mg per pound of body weight for the 1,200 lb. horse.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids:  Beneficial in many ways, the Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids are a natural part of the PreOx  product.  Like most HorseTech supplements, PreOx features food-grade flaxseed as its base material. Each two ounce serving of PreOx will contain approximately one ounce of natural flax and a corresponding level of approximately  5+ grams of Omega-3 fatty acids.  The fresh taste and aroma of flax also enhances the palatability of this vitamin and trace mineral rich product.

Palatability:  Products of this nature can be unpalatable (one company’s popular antioxidant product indicates on the label that their product’s taste and aroma may be “offensive”!).  Yes, our product does offer high vitamin supplementation and does utilize the Zinpro brand trace mineral complexes, but it is still quite palatable.  Most of our flax based products are naturally aromatic and flavorful.  With only a few of our products do we feel that further “flavoring” may be beneficial.  Given the concentration of this product we felt that a flavoring might be beneficial.  The PreOx product features a peppermint flavor/aroma with a small amount of sweetener (no sugars).

Selenium: Each ounce of PreOx will provide one (1) mg of Selenium.  The maximum serving of two ounces will therefore provide two (2) mg per day.

Trace Minerals:  100% of all the trace mineral supplementation supplied by the PreOx product is sourced exclusively from Zinpro Corp.’s amino acid complexes.  We have used the Zinpro products with great results in many of our products.

B-Vitamins:  PreOx offers quite an extensive set of B-Complex vitamins and the levels provided by the standard servings are significant.

Iodine:  Each ounce of PreOx will provide one (1) mg of Iodine.  The maximum serving of two ounces will therefore provide two (2) mg per day.

Vitamin D3:  Supplied 100% by Colorguard D3, a very stable form of Vitamin D3.  A visible blue material (similar in look to copper sulfate).

Flaxseed Meal:  HorseTech utilized a premium grade of flax that is made for the human/bakery market.  This product is manufactured using a low temperature “micronizing” process whereby the flax seeds are actually sliced with high speed cutters (at low temps).  Compared to rolling, crushing or hammering, this provides a much more stable product.  The product has a naturally fresh aroma and a taste that is agreeable to most horses.

Consistency of Blend:  You will notice that the particle sizing and the consistency of the product is excellent—especially when compared to some product offerings in this category.  The consistent particle sizing means a more consistent initial blend and less likelihood that the product will suffer from any settling out of ingredients.
