Apple Pie Cookies! Every ingredient is pure, human-grade, and minimally processed. These are small, crunchy cookies made from a base of human-grade flax, Golden Delicious apples, Vanilla and natural spices. Then, for the "piece de resistance," Skode tops each cookie with a small piece of dried apple!
Why did Skode center this treat around apples? Well, horses love apples! Plus, apples are very low in saturated fats, yet are a good source of fiber. Skode kept the skin on the apple pieces placed on top of the cookie, which is where most of the Vitamin C in the apple is stored.
How does Skode keep the NSC so low in this cookie? Well, without giving away any trade secrets, what Skode can tell you is that these cookies contain mostly flax -- this cookie is 90 percent flax! And flax is naturally low in simple sugars. So the amount of apple is "just enough" to flavor the cookie, then distributed throughout the cookie in such a way as to make use of every single bit of apple. And again, Skode's cookies are minimally processed, which means that the flavors and aromas your horse loves are kept in the cookie as much as possible. That's why when you open the bag of cookies, the smell is so potent!

However, Skode's has come up with a carefully balanced blend of whole foods that gives your horses the taste they dream about.
